Here's a copy of a Skype message I just sent to a friend. I'm not going to bother rereading and editing, so if anything doesn't make sense, just deal with it.

That's a pretty accurate representation of what happened. We met online and quickly became friends. She had just recently moved to Woodstock (The one in Georgia, I mean) which is about an hour away from me, and I mean it was a very recent move. I don't think she had been there a week. Anyway, what's two more hours after driving for several days? So she came over and we watched some TV and that was all. After she got back home, we realized we were both being too awkward to show any sort of attraction at all even though it was apparently there. So, she came back again a few days later, and this time I somehow managed to convince my parents to let me go spend the night with her. We had Zaxby's for dinner and it was her first time ever hearing of the place, and she liked it. Then we got back and started watching TV again, and she commented that we were being exactly as awkward as the last time, only it was going to be a whole night now. So I actually managed to do something on my own for once, and I will spare you the details, but one very significant thing is that there was a condom in my wallet when I got there, and it was still in there when I got home. But there WAS sex. And after that, I found out she was only visiting the area and didn't live there. She moved back to California and gradually dropped all contact with me. Eventually, I discovered a blog of hers full of dozens of photos of her sexual escapades. All with women, though, and I can infer that since she was on the pill I wasn't the only guy. So I'd maybe guess that I was something like her 50th or later. And she knew that I wasn't a virgin, and she never cared at all to check that I was clean. So she probably never checked with anyone else. I'm too scared to make an appointment but I really need to get checked out. It's possible that she condemned me to an early death, and that's way more likely than I want to believe. But I still think she was a great friend, and she didn't mean any harm... we were just both being careless idiots... I just didn't want her to disappear before I could at least know what might have happened.

And that's only half of it. My best friend ever, who was my first "love" and who also turned out to be gay in what was the most bittersweet revelation I have ever been given, hasn't talked to me in months. I wrote a paper about her last semester and got the only perfect score the professor had ever given on the project because it was apparently extremely moving. This isn't the first time she's disappeared from me, but it's the longest. And I know she's actively avoiding me this time because she's still posting on Facebook and Tumblr....... But the weirdest thing is this:
Last semester, I also wrote her a letter because I was worried that maybe she just couldn't receive any electronic messages. I never heard back even after that, but then I discovered these on her Tumblr, among other quotes people have given her that she has liked. They are from my letter.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

I realize that they are excessively cheesy and probably nothing that any of you would say to someone who's only a friend, but apparently she liked them enough to type them (it was handwritten) and share them. I don't know what to think about anything anymore. All I know is that I am awake at 2:00AM wondering if I will ever see my friend again or if it's time to just give up hope.

I went waaaay too long thinking "Damn, RD does a fucking spot on Rod Stewart impression".

Anyway...That's sad. I hope things start looking up for you, and I also really hope that whore (only word that fits) didn't give you anything.

Thanks. I'm actually going to go ahead and make my appointment online right now. I've never missed one; it's the actual scheduling I always avoid. So hopefully I can get that out of the way right now.

It's the right thing to do brother, I know it's scary, believe me I know, but you will feel so much better after everything checks out. I did many, many stupid, unsafe things in my younger years and fortunately came out completely unscathed. There was a lot of fear when going to get checked so I feel you, but really it's a huge relief when you come back clean as I'm sure you will. Good luck to you, also I hope you can get things on the right track with your friend. Just let her know you're always there for her when she's ready.

Get your appointment, but I wouldn't stress, the likelihood that you have anything serious (read: incurable) is very, very low. HIV/AIDS is really hard to pass in that manner, and other than herpes (far less likely but not impossible to spread if she didn't have sores), all you could have gotten is Hepatitis B (which you might have been vaccinated against) or HPV (which your body generally gets rid of over time [though you should get vaccinated for HPV if you are under 26, it is covered by your insurance and is a good way to reduce the chances of penile or throat cancer]). Anything else is fairly easy to cure. Just take the whole thing as a reminder to always play it safe.

Word of warning, if you go through your doctor, getting a test for everything can be pretty expensive, even with insurance. If you have flexible hours, your best bet is to find a sexual health clinic (and make sure that they provide more than just HIV/AIDS testing) in your area. Clinics generally test free of charge.

If you're that worried, get tested. Don't let it eat you up.

I have one question. What's "Zaxby's?"

It's delicious, delicious fried chicken!
Raising Cane's is very similar (some people say it ripped off the idea from Zaxby's). Try it if you get a chance.

Anyway, RD, that was a tough read. Glad you're getting that appointment setup and here's to hoping that you pass that test with at least a 70%.

If you get the chance to try either one (Zaxby's or Cane's) do so, especially if you like fried chicken. Portions are good sized, and the menu is similar in layout as In-N-Out (just a few things on the menu). I haven't had either since 2011, as they are mainly in the South (I first had Cane's in Las Vegas, and Zaxby's in Mississippi).

Thanks for the info, whenever I travel I'll be sure to check them out. I live in New York, the only things we have the "big" brands and Five Guys.

I noticed that during my stay for that little wind storm you guys had. I don't remember if the Atlanta airport has a Zaxby's or not, but if you fly through there, take a look.

My tuition covers any and all visits to the school's clinic, so there's no worry there. In fact, I might have gone eventually anyway just because I can.

I don't know for sure, but I'd bet on it seeing as the company started here. (When I say here, I literally mean here- I am sitting in my dorm at the college in the city they first opened. Aw yeah. Chick-fil-a began here, too.)

Anyway, random note: Midnight Club: Los Angeles is filled with ads for Zaxby's, even though the closest location to LA is all the way in Texas. I have been waiting patiently for Cracked to have one of their Photoplasties about glaring mistakes in video games, or something like that. :P

And finally, thanks for reading and everything. I'll find everything out for sure at noon on Friday.

I think the way she printed parts of your letter and posted them online (where she probably knows you will see them) is her way of saying "I got your letter and it meant a lot, I'm just not ready to talk just yet"
As for the other thing, best to get tested, you don't want your pecker falling off!

Actually, she later posted something directed at me after I sent an innocent message about the quotes:

"...and i have someone in my box that i so don’t want to deal with, but will, and it will be angry and bloody"

Still haven't heard what she's going to say, but my god. I'm practically certain that whatever she's holding against me is a misunderstanding, but who knows if there will ever be a way to clear it up.
